Metin2 Leveling Guide: Fastest 1-105 Route (2026)
This Metin2 leveling guide is the route I actually run on new characters, bracket by bracket, from level 1 to 105. I have leveled more characters than I want to admit, wasted plenty of hours on bad maps, and learned the hard way which metins, quests and EXP bonuses are worth your time. Below you get the maps, the spots, the party rules and the point where you should stop pushing levels and fix your gear instead. If you want to skip part of the grind with ready-made currency or equipment, that is what our shop is for, but the route itself works even if you never spend a coin.
How Leveling Works in Metin2
Metin2 gives you EXP from three main sources: killing monsters, breaking metins, and completing quests. Monsters give a steady trickle, metins give big chunks plus drops, and quests give lump sums that are huge in the early levels and almost irrelevant later. The smartest players mix all three instead of grinding one map for ten hours straight.
There is also a level gap rule that catches a lot of people. If your level is too far above or below the monster, your EXP gets cut. The sweet spot is fighting monsters within a few levels of your own. Farming grey monsters is comfortable but slow, and fighting red ones is fast EXP until you die, at which point you lose the time you saved. Keep an eye on the EXP number floating over the corpse and adjust your map if it starts looking small.
Party play changes the math. When you are in a group, EXP is shared based on the levels and contribution of the members in range. A higher-level friend can carry you, but if the gap is too wide you get very little. The classic setup is two to four players close in level, all hitting the same metin or monster pack, so everyone gets a real share. If you just want the basics of accounts, delivery and payments, the FAQ covers it.
Finally, bonuses matter more than most players think. An EXP ring, an event buff, a mount and a guild bonus all multiply together. A player with all four active can level noticeably faster than someone with none, for the exact same hours. If you are curious what Metin2 is and how it has evolved, the Wikipedia entry gives a decent overview of the game's history.
Leveling 1-20: Map1 and Quests
Levels 1 to 20 are pure tutorial, and that is a good thing. Stay in Map1 and follow the main quest chain, but do not skip the boring delivery steps, because they are your fastest source of early EXP, Yang and your first gear. Kill the low-level metins you can break and keep every stone you pick up; those stones and drops fund your first upgrades.
The best routine here is simple. Finish a quest batch, then loop the metins and monster packs near the village while you wait for the next quest unlock. Do not wander into higher-level zones because you saw a video of someone speedrunning them. At level 10 you are made of paper and one bad pull sends you back to town.
- Do the full main quest chain and all easy side quests.
- Break every low-level metin in Map1 and bank the stones.
- Save your Yang for potions and one weapon upgrade, not for random gambling.
- If you have a friend, party up so shared EXP stacks with your quest rewards.
You should hit level 20 in one or two relaxed evenings. If it takes you a week, you are almost certainly over-farming and ignoring quests. Once you have your first real weapon and a stack of potions, you are ready to leave Map1 behind.
Leveling 20-40: Orc Valley and Metins
The 20 to 40 bracket is where Metin2 opens up. Orc Valley, the valley and the early desert edges are your playground, and the metins here start dropping items that are actually worth selling. This is also the bracket where you should learn to fight above your weight, meaning monsters two or three levels above you, without dying every pull.
Break metins in a rotation rather than chasing one spawn. Ride between two or three known spots, clear the trash around them, and let the metins respawn behind you. This keeps your EXP and your drop rate steady instead of spiky. If a map is crowded, move to the next channel rather than fighting five other players for the same stone.
Quests still matter here, but less. Do the chains that give weapons, skill books or big EXP, and ignore the ones that send you across the map for pocket change. A good habit is to check a quest's reward before accepting it; if the reward is a couple of thousand Yang, it is not worth the travel time.
- Rotate two or three metin spots instead of camping one.
- Fight monsters slightly above your level for better EXP.
- Skip quests with tiny rewards and long travel.
- Start a small party so metins break faster and EXP is shared.
By 40 you should have a decent weapon, a few skill points in the right places and enough Yang to survive a bad session. If you would rather not grind the early economy, you can always top up with Elveron Yang and spend it on gear that carries you through the next bracket.
Leveling 40-60: Deserts and Dungeons
From 40 to 60 the desert maps and the first dungeons become your home. This is where leveling stops being a straight line and becomes a choice: solo metins for steady drops, or dungeon runs for concentrated EXP and boss loot. Most players do a bit of both, and that is the right call.
Solo, you want the desert metins and the dense monster camps. The EXP per hour is good, the drops fund your potions, and you can do it at your own pace. In a group, dungeon runs give better EXP bursts, but they depend on having a tank, a healer and enough damage. If you do not have a fixed group, join a guild and ask in chat; a consistent dungeon team is worth more than any single gear upgrade at this stage.
EXP rings really start paying for themselves here. Between 40 and 60 you will spend a lot of hours on the same maps, so any percentage bonus is multiplied across all of it. Stack your ring with event buffs and a party bonus, and you will notice the difference by the end of the bracket.
- Mix solo desert farming with grouped dungeon runs.
- Keep an EXP ring active for the whole bracket.
- Prioritize weapon upgrades over armor upgrades.
- Join a guild so you always have a dungeon team available.
This is also a good moment to fix your gear if you have been coasting. A level 50 character with a sharp weapon and decent resistances clears this bracket twice as fast as one still using a level 30 sword. If you want a shortcut, our Tigerghost Won page is a popular pick for players building their first serious setup.
Leveling 60-75: Ice and Fire
The 60 to 75 bracket is where the game stops being gentle. Ice maps and fire maps have hard-hitting monsters, and the metins are surrounded by aggressive trash. Your survival tools, potions, resistances and a decent shield, matter as much as your damage here. Dying is expensive because of the run back and the lost buffs.
The best spots are the ones with dense monster packs and a metin nearby, so you can clear trash and break the metin in one loop. Fire and ice mobs hit differently, so tune your resistances to the map. If you keep getting frozen or burned, your gear is telling you something; fix it before you push further.
Group play shines in this bracket. Two players with complementary damage types clear packs far faster than either could alone, and the shared EXP is still healthy because your levels are close. If you cannot find a partner, a strong pet or mount helps you survive the pulls you would otherwise skip.
- Tune resistances to the map you are farming.
- Loop dense packs with a metin nearby for steady EXP.
- Never push a map where you die more than once per loop.
- Use a partner or a tanky pet to survive bigger pulls.
Around level 70 to 75 many players hit their first real wall. The EXP curve steepens and the maps get meaner. This is the point where buying a weapon upgrade saves you days, and where the right Metin2009 Yang can fund that upgrade without weeks of farming.
Leveling 75-90: Land of Giants
Levels 75 to 90 are the long middle stretch, and this is where most players either find a rhythm or burn out. The Land of Giants and the higher-level field maps give solid EXP, but they demand real gear. If your weapon is weak, your kills are slow, and slow kills mean fewer metins per hour and less EXP overall.
My rule for this bracket is simple: if you cannot kill a metin in a reasonable number of hits, you are on the wrong map. Move down one zone, farm better gear or buy it, then come back. A stronger weapon is not just quality of life; it is literally an EXP multiplier because every second you save on a kill is a second spent on the next one.
Party farming is the standard here. Rotate metin spots as a group, share the EXP, and split the drops. A four-player team that knows the rotation can clear a map section far faster than four solo players fighting over spawns. Use voice chat if you can; even a shared text channel speeds up the callouts.
- Do not farm metins you cannot break quickly.
- Rotate spawns as a group instead of fighting for one spot.
- Keep EXP bonuses stacked during long sessions.
- Reinvest drop income into your weapon before anything else.
If the grind is wearing you down, remember you can convert real money into time. A face-to-face delivery of Yang or gear means you spend minutes instead of weeks getting to the fun part, and you can read how the process works on our about us page.
Leveling 90-105: Grotto and Beyond
The final stretch, 90 to 105, is the hardest and the most gear-dependent. Grotto and the top-end dungeons give the best EXP in the game, but they punish weak characters brutally. This is not a bracket you brute-force with patience alone. You either arrive with proper equipment or you spend your time dying and running back.
The efficient route is to secure a strong weapon, good resistances and a reliable group, then run the highest dungeon you can clear consistently. Consistency beats ambition here. A dungeon you clear every time gives more total EXP than a harder one you fail half the time. Track your runs and see which one actually pays.
EXP rings and event buffs matter most in this bracket because the numbers are so large. A percentage bonus on a big EXP pool is a bigger absolute gain than the same bonus at level 30. Stack everything you have and save your best sessions for events when the whole server is farming.
- Secure endgame gear before pushing past 95.
- Run the hardest dungeon you can clear consistently, not the hardest one that exists.
- Stack EXP bonuses for every long session.
- Find a stable group; solo leveling past 95 is painfully slow.
By 105 you have finished the climb and the game shifts to PvP, bossing and perfecting your build. If you want to reach that point without months of grinding, our shop and contact pages show the fastest legitimate route.
When to Stop Leveling and Gear Up
This is the advice I wish someone had given me years ago: leveling is not always progress. Past a certain point, a higher level with bad gear is worse than a lower level with good gear. You clear slower, you die more, and you lose more time to death than you gain from the new map.
My rule is to stop and gear up whenever I die more than once or twice per farming loop, or whenever a metin takes so long to break that I am bored. Those are signals that my damage or survivability has fallen behind my level. The fix is never more leveling; it is a better weapon, better resistances or both.
The sweet spots to pause are around 40, 60, 75 and 90. At each of those levels the next bracket expects more from you. Take a day or two to farm or buy an upgrade, then continue. That small pause usually saves you a week of frustration later, and it makes the next bracket genuinely fun instead of a slog.
- Pause at 40, 60, 75 and 90 to check your gear.
- Treat repeated deaths as a gear problem, not a skill problem.
- Upgrade weapon first, then shield and resistances.
- Only push the next map once the current one feels easy.
Buying gear or Yang fits naturally here. Instead of farming for a week to afford one weapon, you can buy the currency and get the upgrade today, then spend your play time on content you actually enjoy. If you are unsure what to buy, our FAQ explains the options in plain language.
Common Time-Wasters and Gear Shortcuts
Most slow levelers are not lazy; they are just spending hours on things that do not move the bar. Here are the traps I see constantly, and how to avoid them.
- Over-upgrading low-level gear you will replace in five levels.
- Farming grey monsters because they are safe, when the EXP is tiny.
- Running across the map for a quest that pays almost nothing.
- Leveling with no EXP bonus, no party and no plan for the session.
- Chasing every drop instead of the few that actually sell.
- Ignoring your weapon while pouring money into cosmetics.
The shortcut that works is boring but effective: pick one map, set a session goal, keep your EXP bonuses active, and put every bit of income into your weapon until it stops being the bottleneck. That single habit will out-level most players who think they are grinding hard.
If you would rather buy your way past the slow parts, that is a legitimate choice and plenty of players do it. Our service delivers face-to-face, meaning you meet in game and receive your items directly, with no middleman guesswork. Orders also carry a +2% bonus, so the value you get is slightly better than the headline amount. Browse the shop for Yang and gear across Elveron, Tigerghost, Metin2009 and Harbi2, or check about us if you want to know who is behind it.
Whichever route you take, the leveling fundamentals do not change. Know your bracket, farm the right map, stack your bonuses, group up when it helps, and fix your gear before you blame the game. Do that and 1 to 105 is a grind you can actually finish without hating every hour of it.
